The Ministry of Digital Transformation in Ukraine believes that blockchain technology creates new opportunities for the digitization of government services: "Blockchain can securely protect state registers from unauthorized interference, increase their transparency, and reduce corruption levels within the government bodies that administer them. Because the security of registers is the security of the state."
Furthermore, experts have noted that blockchain technology contributes to the documentation of Russian war crimes. They cited the Dokaz project by STARLing lab as an example, which records and digitizes evidence of Russian terror using this technology. According to representatives of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, this initiative is of utmost importance for establishing justice in international courts.
✅ Meta is accused of causing harm to children's mental health
33 U.S. states have filed a federal collective lawsuit against Meta, accusing the company of posing a threat to the mental well-being of children and teenagers with some of its products. The lawsuit alleges that Meta uses internal algorithms to stimulate addictive behavior and negatively affect the psychological well-being of children through built-in features.
Additionally, according to the plaintiffs, the company's products encourage addiction, with social platforms like Facebook and Instagram designed to keep users engaged for as long as possible.
Built-in photo and video filters, as well as the "Like" rating system, are believed to contribute to the development of dysmorphia (excessive concern with one's appearance), according to the claimants.
Meta is also accused of violating the "Children's Online Privacy Protection Act" (COPPA) by allegedly collecting personal data of users under 13 years of age without their parents' consent.
