🇺🇦Crypto in Ukraine: important events 🇺🇦

2022-07-04

We regularly publish a weekly crypto recap, as it helps our community to stay on top of trends and track the market. Today we decided to focus solely on the most important crypto events in Ukraine.

NFT worth $100,000 sold to support the army

Mikhail Federov, Minister of Digital Transformation, announced the sale of an NFT token from the CryptoPunks collection for 90 ETH (more than $100,000 at the time of purchase). Please note that it was donated to Ukraine on March 2, 2022, but the buyer's identity remains unknown.

NFTs have become an essential part of the Ukrainian crypto community in wartime: in March, the Bored Ape Yacht Club donated over $1 million to Ukraine. Moreover, in April, the Ukrainian 'Come Back Alive" Foundation received $250,000 from selling Coffin Dance NFTs.

Ukraine has become an observer in the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP)

The representative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Alexander Bornyakov, said that Ukraine received observer status in the European Blockchain Partnership. He believes this will simplify and accelerate Ukraine's integration into the European Economic Digital Space while also contributing to a regulatory framework for digital assets.

Please note that the Blockchain4Ukraine community and the Virtual Assets of Ukraine union sent a letter to the EU authorities with a request to give Ukraine the status of an EBP.

The first Ukrainian crypto bond

Evoltech and ICU broker announced the launch of a token that will allow you to invest in government bonds. Cryptobond with the ticker UACB is backed by war bonds and has a money-back guarantee. You can buy an asset and withdraw funds after receiving bond payments taxes using USDT. The UACB price is set at 34.18 USDT, and the minimum investment is 3 USDT. This is a pilot project, and all raised funds will be used to support Ukraine during the war.

Everstake donated $10 million to Ukraine

The Ukrainian staking platform Everstake donated over $10 million to Ukrainian charitable foundations last week. $3.4 million was given to the first government crypto fund, "Aid for Ukraine", created by KUNA with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, Everstake and FTX. The remaining $6.6 million was distributed among other charitable organizations: the funds will be used to purchase thermal imagers, armored vehicles, drones, and assist refugees.

In addition, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, Everstake launched the "Save Ukrainian Culture" initiative. It is aimed at raising funds to protect our cultural heritage during the war. You can donate in BTC, ETH, USDT, euros, dollars, and hryvnias. Allocated funds will help protect, transport, and restore over 200 damaged cultural sites.

We also urge you to help the Ukrainian military, which is currently protecting and fighting for us in the hottest zones. Each donation saves lives in real-time: first-aid kits, body armor, military equipment, and much more are financed through your donations. We have already raised more than $70 million through joint efforts, so let's continue with the same pace!
